Sézane: New York City

Sézane: New York City

First of all, New York City at Christmas time is absolutely spectacular! Yes, it’s extremely flooded with people, but every corner is decorated and you can’t help but get into the holiday spirit. It’s pure magic and I would highly recommend taking a trip at this time of year. We spent an extended weekend exploring the city and and the top of my wishlist was visiting the Sézane shop just outside of Soho.

Sézane is a French label based out of Paris that encompasses everything Parisienne chic. The NY shop is the only location in North America, otherwise you have to go to London or their flagship in Paris. I’ve been obsessed with this brand for quite a while now, and I’ve ordered online but there is definitely something about experiencing it in real life.

Located just outside of Soho in Nolita, on Elizabeth Street, Sézane is tucked away but you can’t miss it. The windows are decorated beautifully with holiday garland and lights and in the summertime, I’ve seen on IG the amazing floral displays they craft up.

Everything about this little shop is so intentional and beautifully thought out. From the smell when you walk in (their signature perfume that I had to purchase - freshest scent ever!) to the wallpaper and even their boxes + packaging. Even up at their cash register they have a stack of “Parisienne” things to do in the surrounding neighborhood - from where to eat + find a good glass of wine and where to find inspiration (their recommendation is the photography museum nearby on Bowery).

Sézane is described as a “boutique apartment” feel and that’s exactly how it felt. Cozy velvet couches, beautiful shelving + gold racks, delicately placed with limited clothing, shoes and leather handbags. It’s all relatively reasonable prices, with sweaters retailing around $120 and dresses for under $200. The handbags can be a bit pricier as they are real leather but all so pretty! When I was in the shop, they were offering free gold embossed monogramming on any bag or wallet. It’s all in the details that make a boutique stand out! (Although i’m not sure if they are always offering monogramming at this location).

They also have blank postcards stacked around the shop for you to write a card and they will send it out for you, anywhere in the world. Plus an adorable little mailbox outside the shop so you can drop your postcard before leaving. It’s truly all in the details, I always appreciate these little things!

I wanted to share a few photographs of this space that I snapped as I was shopping. They are too pretty not to share!
