My Top 18 of 2018

My Top 18 of 2018

I always love reflecting back on the year as it comes to an end and I wanted to collect all my favourite moments of this past year and highlight some of the highs. Just like everyone else, there were definitely some lows but I’m choosing to focus on the all good things that happened in 2018 that I’m so grateful for. I know there are some new faces around here as I’ve grown my blog over the last few months, so this seems like the perfect way to get to know me a bit better!

So here goes my Top 18 of 2018

  1. Our wedding on January 6th definitely goes at the top of my list for 2018! The most beautiful winter’s day (-26, eek) with gorgeous sunshine and a room with our family + friends. It truly was a magical day for us and i’m planning to share a few wedding related posts in early January!

  2. Visiting Langdon Hall for our mini-moon. A Hotel & Spa in Cambridge which I would highly recommended for a close by getaway! Very historical and relaxing, especially during the winter months

  3. Bringing Pippy home. Pip is our Scottish Fold cat that I had been begging to get last year. I was hoping to get her as a Valentine’s gift, but we ended up picking her up a few weeks into January. She is the sweetest little cat and is especially cuddly

  4. Starting my blog in the early Spring! This was something I was thinking about for a while before I finally decided to get out of my comfort zone and go for it. I wanted a creative space to share my personal style and be able to write and connect with others, so thank you for reading this if you’ve made it this far in my post! ;)

  5. Experiencing Santorini, Mykonos and Athens for our honeymoon. I would go back to Greece in a heartbeat, the islands were absolutely beautiful! (linked all 3 posts if you are interested in my travel guides)

  6. Finally visited my BFF in Whistler after she’s lived out west for years. We spent the weekend exploring Whistler, Pemberton and Squamish. I documented our travels here: ‘West Coast Weekend’

  7. Hiked Joffre Lake - one of the most beautiful views I’ve ever seen in my life. Definitely a bucket list place to go if you find yourself on the west coast

  8. Finally tried water skiing for the first time and LOVED it. I’m usually the last person to join in on water sports so this was a big one for me!

  9. Visiting my old University campus with my besties - this had been on our list to do for a few years now so it was so much fun to go back and explore the University of Guelph in the Fall, all the nostalgia!

  10. Received my first real “blogger” mail (I was so excited!)

  11. Celebrated 1 year in our townhouse in Oakville

  12. Renovated & updated a few spots in our house that we wanted to do - exposed shelving in our kitchen, new light fixtures, mounted pipe closet racks which made our place super cozy and more “us”

  13. Celebrated my 27th birthday in October, my husband made me an ‘S’ cake from scratch. So sweet!!

  14. Bought our first Christmas tree - this was an exciting one for us as we didn’t decorated last year because our wedding was only a few weeks away

  15. Took my niece Paisley to her first National Ballet with my sister

  16. Experienced NYC at Christmas time, every corner was decorated and SO busy but finally visited my favourite store Sezane!

  17. Celebrated our first married Christmas in Muskoka

  18. And lastly, I continued to read more self development & personal growth books, got out of my comfort zone and decided life is too short to do anything but all the things that make you feel inspired + happy!

    Cheers to 2019! xo
