Flytographer: Santorini

I came across Flytographer through Instagram and when Oprah named it an "ingenious travel hack" on her website, I obviously had to check it out for myself when I was planning our recent Honeymoon to Greece. It's always a struggle to get amazing shots on vacation especially to get both people in the photos and you're always trusting that nearby tourists will take a couple extra -  if you're lucky!

For those that aren't familiar with Flytographer, it's a website where you are connected with real photographers around the world while you're travelling. Prior to your trip, you select your date & destination and you're are given a list of all the photographers in the area you'll be visiting. You can view their profile, portfolio and reviews on what they are like to work with, which is all super helpful when deciding what photographer to choose. You can really get a feel for their aesthetic based on the profile provided!

Flytographer also helps you navigate what area you'd like your photos in. I found this step really beneficial because we obviously didn't know WHAT spot we wanted our photos in since we've never been. They offer a drop down menu of the different spots on the island and a short description on what those areas actually look like. We opted for the town of Oia, the tip of Santorini, with the picturesque blue + white houses and churches. It's one of the more popular areas, however we did our shoot early in the morning to avoid the crowds and it ended up being one of our favourite places in Santorini.

Once all the details were planned ahead of time, we simply met up with our photographer at our scheduled time near a landmark that was easy to find. Our photographer, Teo was SO  friendly, professional and knowledgeable about Greece and took us to the best spots in Oia. We had such a wonderful experience working with him, and the best part was it only took 45 minutes out of our Honeymoon to get the shots done. It wasn't a time consuming part of our trip by any means, and now we have this beautiful gallery of memories from our time in Greece (that I can't wait to frame for our house!). I cannot recommend this website enough because of how easy the process is, however, we owe the amazing & relaxed experience to our photographer Teo.

If anyone is looking for an amazing photographer in Greece, Teo is one half of Lighthouse Photography. Definitely check out this husband + wife's unbelievable portfolio - so beautiful!
