An Evening in Toronto with Mrs. Obama
This past Saturday night I had the privilege of attending Michelle Obama’s Becoming: An Intimate Conversation at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto with a friend of mine. It was absolutely amazing to be in the same room as the former First Lady; to listen and soak up (in real time) all of her wisdom and knowledge from the past 5 decades of her life. She discussed topics on change in the White House while they lived there, social media and how they used it to create real change, the idea of perfection and how it can push you forward yet hold you back, family life, always becoming something new and of course - encouraging everyone to share their story with the world, too. The energy in the room was unbelievable, and I feel so grateful to have been in the same room as her and witness this amazing night in history.
“I’m an ordinary person who found herself on an extraordinary journey. In sharing my story, I hope to help create space for other stories and other voices, to widen the pathway for who belongs and why.”
I mostly wanted to share a blog post on my experience seeing her live in person, but I’ll stay on brand and also share my outfit from the evening! ;)

If you haven’t had a chance to read her book Becoming, I highly suggest you give it a read as it’s extremely inspiring and gives you an honest insight into the life and story of the lady we know as Michelle Obama. She shares so much of her personal life, family history and intimate moments that make you love her even more.
